UPDATED: Code was update and now works.

I have started to use my iPad to browse the Internet more often and I needed a way to add Delicious bookmarks.

So here is how to add a delicious bookmarklet for Safari on your iPad.

- Click on  to add the current page to Bookmarks. Change the title to “Delicious Bookmark” and then click Save. We’ll need to add the current page to get a bookmark going and then we’ll edit the bookmark as follows.

- Select and copy the following javascript:

- Open Safari Bookmarks list, then click on Edit. Select the Delicious Bookmark. In the link field delete the current text and paste the code that your just copied from the clipboard.

- Then click on Done, and that’s it. Now you will be able to add a bookmark to Delicious while browsing in Safari on your iPad.

Hi, just a quick question… I followed your instructions to get a book mark to add the current page as a delicious bookmark, but nothing happens when I later click it. What have I done wrong?

I would be most grateful for any help to solve this one.

    Kind regards,

  • Louis

    the quotes are translating as backticks, so change those all to either double quotes or single quotes should help. i also closed the anonymous function and call it instantly. i.e. add the following to last closing brace: )();

I was able to get this to work by adding the following tom the end of the JavaScript

It seems in comparing the original js (above) to the code on the delicious site, the three characters were missing at the end.

Thanks achecht – I have updated it now.

Hi. This is probably a stupid question, but what do I do after making these changes?
How do I add sites to my delicious account?

  • Sgmorton

Seems like all curly braces turn into the URL codes rendering the jasvascript neutered. I couldn’t get it to work.

I can’t get it to work either. Is it possible to fix it? Thanks.

I’m with Roxana.  I added the JS to the bookmark as described.  Then when I am on say,, do I tap that bookmark?  I do not then see it show up in my delicious account.  Any help is good help.  Thanks.

I still could not get this to work. For the next site, do I have to repeat all the steps? I do not see ‘add delicious bookmark’ option still.
    How please?

Hi Thomas thanks for posting this! I notice the version on this page has backticks instead of quotes when I view it on my iPad. here’s a version with quotes that works for me: javascript:(function()%7Bf=””+encodeURIComponent(window.location.href)+”&title=”+encodeURIComponent(document.title)+”&v=5&”;a=function()%7Bif(!”jump=doclose”,”deliciousuiv5″,”location=yes,links=no,scrollbars=no,toolbar=no,width=550,height=550″))location.href=f+”jump=yes”%7D;if(/Firefox/.test(navigator.userAgent))%7BsetTimeout(a,0)%7Delse%7Ba()%7D%7D)()

Recently I was REALLY low on money and debts were eating me from all sides! That was UNTIL I decided to make money on the internet! I went to surveymoneymaker dot net, and started filling in surveys for cash, and surely I’ve been far more able to pay my bills! I’m so glad, I did this.. With all the financial stress these years, I really hope all of you will give it a chance. – x8gd
